Wonder
The camera shot that I think is most effective as it makes the audience start to think about why is the medium shot of the young boy riding on his bike somewhere with a space helmet on. Another camera shot that I think was most effective in the trailer was the two shot off the two boys playing, this is effective because it makes the audience really sympathetic towards him. The pace of editing in the trailer is a steady pace cutting from scene to scene, this is effective because it lets the audience know that it's going to be a happy film we are able to tell this as the pace of cutting is fast enough it's allowing us as the audience to see all of the happy parts of the film making them want to watch it.
Sound is used in a sad manner at the begging of the trailer. At the beginning the music is slow and quiet and which makes the audience want to know what's going on and why the boy is so sad. Part way through the trailer the music starts to get faster and more up beat this suggests that everything is going to start looking up for him. The costumes make them look like they are everyday people they have dressed the main character up just like the rest of the students, this is effective because although he may look different he is still very much the same. Towards the end of the trailer you see everyone dressing up for Halloween, this is effective because at the beginning we are shown him riding his bike with an astronaut helmet on and for the dress up day at the school they've dressed him up in an astronaut costume, this represents a form of mystery on why he loves that costume so much. This makes the audience want to know why.
By the trailer we find out that the storyline is about a boy feeling left out and is scared of going to school for the first time because he looks different, this can really connect with some of the audience with wanting to feel invisible and hating being so different. By the trailer we find out that the film is going to be a drama because of the amount of chaos that is going on and the amount of disappointment shown in the boys facial expressions.
The titles in the trailer are used in a vey clever way, they used a green chalk board with a white chalk writing, this is effective because it lets the audience know that the film is set in a school.
