kidnap

Kidnap

24 seconds - 32 seconds
One of the camera shots that i thought was most effective is at the beginning when the mum finds her sons toy on the bench in the park it slowly zooms in and around, this builds tension to then show a close up of the mums face when she panics, this is effective because it makes the audience feel sympathetic towards her. The music in this scene helps build the tension as they use a low note that makes the scene feel really on edge. The pace of editing at this part of the trailer is slow, this gives the audience time to think about all of the possibilities of what has happened to the boy. In this scene the mum is wearing summery clothing which suggests that it is a nice day, the clothing that she is wearing makes her look like a normal mum on a normal day, this is effective because it helps the audience click with the character because it makes them feel like shes one of them. In the opening we are told that the film is about a mum and her son enjoying their day out at the park. In the beginning of the trailer we aren't really told much about what the genre of the film is going to be.

45 seconds - 52 seconds
The next camera shot that is really effective is when her son is being dragged into a car and the camera is zoomed into the mums eyes and you are able to see the panic in her eyes, this is effective because it tells the audience what she is feeling in that specific moment. In this part of the trailer sound is used effectively as the music is really fast and at a low note and as everything goes blank the music comes to a stop, this is effective because it feels like the music is relating to her life in a way because as her son is her world and he is being taken her world comes to a stop at that moment. At this point in the trailer the pace starts to get fast, this is effective because it makes the tension of the film build up more than the beginning. At this point in the trailer we are told that the story-line of the film is going to be about the son being kidnapped, this makes the audience want to watch the film to see what is going to happen to the little boy. We are now able to tell that one of the genres of the film might be a thriller, we are able to tell this because of the sound that is used and what is going on in the scene.

1 minute 12 seconds - 1 minute 17 seconds
The camera shot that is most effective in this part of the trailer is the close up of the mum screaming at the police officer saying "help me they have my son", this is effective because it shows the worry in her face and the desperation of help she needs to get her son back. The sound in this part of the film is effective because its a fast pace loud music suggesting that the everything is extremely panicked. The pace of editing is fast as the man that has stolen her son crashes the police officer into her car, for it to then quickly cut to a close up of the mums shocked face as she realizes that the man that has stolen her son will kill anyone and will do anything to get away and not get caught. At this point in the film we find out that the film is going to be about the mum going after her son to try to get him back, this is effective because it makes the audience want to know what she does to get him back and and if she gets him back at the end of the film. We now know that the film is going to be a
