One of the camera shots that I thought was the most effective is when we are shown what she is seeing from behind her this is effective because its showing us where she is going and where she has been. This sets the scene of where she is, its showing us that she is out side the front of a college, this shows that the film is targeting at the late teens- young adult crowed. The music in this part of the clip is young and up beat, this is effective because its drawing in the younger crowed by playing the type of music that the listen to. In this section of the clip they have used slow editing to show that everything is all calm and that something bad might happen as everything is all calm and laid-back and so something has to go wrong to make the film more interesting for the viewers. There outfits are styled too look young and make everything seem so much more laid-back, this is effective because it helps the audience connect with the characters. At this point in the trailer we find out that the story-line of the film is that it is going to be set in a college and the two main characters are the boy and the girl that was shown at the very beginning. At this point we are unable to tell what genre the film is going to be as there isn't much that is being given away.
36 seconds- 46 seconds
The most effective camera shot in this part in the medium shot at the beginning where she is looking in the mirror and all you can see it the top of someones head, this is effective because its setting a tension in the trailer and makes the audience think who is this person and what is he doing. In the 10 seconds sound is used to create an atmosphere as the music goes from up beat to a single high pitched note. The pace of editing in this part is quick from a medium shot of the female character looking in the mirror to a close up of the person in a mask, this is used to create tension. As, in the beginning the pace of editing is slow, as it gets quicker its suggesting a panic in the character. The person spooky character is wearing a mask suggesting that he/she is going to be trouble as they don't want anybody to know who they are. The female character is wearing a dress, this shows that they are at a party and is having fun. At this point in the trailer we find-out that the film is going to be about a college student and someone that is starting trouble. At this point in the trailer we find out that the film is a horror as we are spooked about the man in the mask. 1 minute 27 seconds- 1 minute 38 seconds The camera shot that i think is most effective in this part is when they use a low angle shot, this shows that the main female character is vulnerable and weak, this is effective because it makes the audience feel sympathetic for the main character. Sound is used in this part of the trailer is really effective because using a slow low note its suggesting that there is danger and that she is in trouble. What is also effective is how we are able to hear the main male character talking and explaining what is going on so its giving the audience more of a clear idea on what is going to happen in the film. The pace of editing in at this point in the trailer is fast pace editing this is effective because its setting the scene as a jumpy scary film and its also kind of telling us that the main female character is in a panic about what is going on. By this point we find out that the story-line is going to be a college girl trying everything to save her own life. We also know for certain that the genre of the film is going to be a horror/ thriller.
