This is our film poster for our production Smile, it is in black and white to bring tension to the setting of the film and also to bring fear and wonder to what is going to happen next in the film. Also the man in the background makes you think who is it and why is he on the poster.

Audience feed back

In the video that is shown above is our class mates commenting on what was good and what could of made it even better. This helped us as we are always open to improve our trailer and to know what the audience thought was good as they are around the age we aimed our trailer at. This was helpful due to us knowing weather they liked it or not and knowing weather it was suitable for them and maybe if we should higher or lower the age restriction. After we stopped filming we decided to ask them weather or not they thought that 15 was a suitable age restriction for our film and the majority of our class said that it was.

Directors cometary

This is our directors comontary this is where me, Kiera, Anna and Charlotte have watched our final production together and we picked it to pieces at parts and we explained what we done and why we done it. This was to help us understand more as the directors if it actually made sense to the audience on why we done specific things in the trailer. This is effective as it also gives us the audiences point of view as we are thinking like the audience would in the sense that we are think why we done that and what it would approve the scene through and why.

Digital Technology

The software that we used during our AS media was adobe premiere elements, by using this we was able to smoothly cut from one scene to another, we was able to add and cut music from other shots that we had taken. We used an IPhone 6 to film the opening, by using an IPhone 6 we had access to a camera with 8 megapixels, and a 1/3 inch sensor with a 1.5 pixel size.
pros and cons software:
We used adobe to create our production titles, we got the images off of google and put it onto adobe and added black backgrounds and names, we was also able to add fades in where neccisery. The only problem was it didn’t always allow us to upload the footage or images that we wanted.
It was hard to save the production due to it being such a big file as of the footage on it. But as it was such a big file it allowed us to upload many different clips so we was a Lebanese to pick and choose from many different scene and cut and stretch what was needed.

Camera shots list

In our trailer we have decided to use some of the most effective camera angles such as close ups mediajm shots and dolly shots.
The reason that we decided to use a close up was because it allows us to see all of the actual expressions and it makes the audience focuse on that one thing. This is effective because it makes the audience want to know why they are focusing on the person. We don’t tis at the end when we showed the antagonist and the victum this was effective because it was making the audience think why are they together and how do they link together.
We used medium shots to help with the surroundings this allows the audience to know the setting and the mood within the scene. This can show many different emotions within the character. It also allows the audience to see the body language that the characters are showing towards people and makes them wonder why.
We used a dolly shot in our trailer to show that the two girls are walking this is effective because it makes the audience feel like they are their with them and wxperiancing everything that they are. We use a dolly shot when the two girls are walking out of the shop this was to show where they was walking from and too.

Questionnaire results

These are the results to our questionnaire that we handed out after showing a handful of people our trailer.

For the first question the results were pretty good with 10 saying we confirmed and 5 saying we subverted. We asked the audience if the trailer was conventional to a horror film.

For the second question we asked the audience what part of the trailer they preferred beginning, middle or end. The majority of the audience said that they preferred ghetto end due to it ending on a cliff hanger.

When we asked the audience if they thought that the music that we had playing the back helped add tension to the setting most of them said that it did due to the different sounds and pitches building up at the right place of the trailer.

The last question that we asked the audeince was that did the trailer make you want to watch the film and the answer was yes they was intreeged to find out what was going to happen in the film and wanted to know what happened to the two girls that saw Emily and the killer.
